TV Guide’s Special Double Issue Featuring STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS Hits Newsstands Thursday, August 7

On August 15, Star Wars returns to theaters as it’s never been seen before, in the first-ever animated adventure set in a galaxy far, far away: STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS from Lucasfilm Animation. TV Guide magazine is celebrating the excitement with four collectible covers and a multi-media CD-ROM which is presented exclusively by Toys“R”Us. The disc will be affixed to four collectible covers of the August 11 special double issue on newsstands Thursday, August 7.  The covers will feature favorite Star Wars characters as well as new additions to the galaxy: Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan learner Ashoka Tano; Obi-Wan Kenobi and Asajj Ventress; Yoda and Count Dooku; and R2-D2 and C-3PO. The special edition of TV Guide commemorates not only the first Star Wars animated theatrical release, but also the fall premiere of the weekly STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS animated television series on Cartoon Network. The special CD-ROM created by TV Guide and Lucasfilm Ltd. features never-before-seen material, including: Sneak peeks at STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS Behind-the-scenes video of the making of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS On-camera commentary with executive producer George Lucas and Dave Filoni, director of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS Photo gallery of characters featured in STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS Extras on the disc include links to video games and a behind-the-scenes tour of Lucasfilm Animation’s production studio in Marin County, Calif. Star Wars fans should also note that Toys“R”Us stores nationwide will receive regular shipments of new Star Wars: The Clone Wars merchandise.

Countdown to a Galaxy far, far away

When the clock strikes midnight on July 26, more than 225 Toys“R”Us stores from coast to coast will open their doors, giving Star Wars fans the first opportunity to purchase toys from the new collection. The two biggest celebrations will take place at Toys“R”Us Times Square and Toys“R”Us Mission Bay in San Diego, where Star Wars aficionados are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite character and take part in a “Cloned Costume Contest.” Star Wars enthusiasts attending these two events will also be treated to trivia, games and a galaxy of excitement and prizes, while supplies last. As an added bonus, customers who purchase Star Wars merchandise at any Toys“R”Us store during the midnight events will have the opportunity to receive special gifts, including a Star Wars Holographic General Grievous action figure from Hasbro or a LEGO reversible poster, while supplies last.

The Star Wars virtual store also opens at www.Toysrus.com/StarWars at 12:01 am on July 26 for fans who are unable to attend the midnight festivities in person. Additionally, customers visiting the site will be able to locate the Toys“R”Us stores in their area hosting midnight events on July 26.
